Program Description

Florence University of the Arts (FUA) presents a contemporary and thorough approach to a Liberal Arts education, along with an extensive curriculum in Studio Arts. The program is organized and run by Study Abroad Italy (SAI). With small classes taught by a highly qualified international faculty, every course aims to enhance the social, intercultural and professional experience of each student. FUA combines innovative curriculum and collaborative teaching methods to create a unique, hands-on educational experience. Students have the opportunity to learn with working professionals in the arts, as many of our instructors are critically acclaimed in their fields. Courses at FUA are chosen from the following departments/Colleges: College of Liberal Arts, College of Fine and Visual Arts, College of Life, Science, Environmental Studies and Human Services, College of Business and Economics and College of Science.

Location

FUA is located in the historic center of Florence, and offers students the opportunity to live in the heart of this bustling Renaissance city while experiencing modern Florentine life. Student accommodations are within walking distance of such landmarks as the Uffizi Gallery, the Ponte Vecchio and the Accademia Museum (site of the David), along with the many other museums and churches in Florence showcasing the most extensive and famous collection of Italian art works found in the world.
